Neil and Eileen moved from the United Kingdom, fell in love with the Kaikoura region and decided to build Manakau Lodge. Their extensive travels around the world have given them a special insight into the needs and expectations of the independent traveller. They have many years in the hospitality business themselves; from the Royal Albert Hall in London to Walt Disney World in Florida; a pizzeria in Paris to a country pub in Oxfordshire. Anyone with a passion for photography will find themselves very much at home in Neil’s company – his spare time is filled by photographing the stunning local landscape and his work is on show at the Lodge.
“When the only sound to disturb the calm is the birdsong from the trees, you know you’ve found a true rural retreat. We look forward to welcoming you to Manakau Lodge”
