Auckland – North Island - Queenstown
This 13 day journey, from Auckland in the North Island to Tahi Beach in Northland takes you through the volcanic central plateau and lakes of central North Island through to Hawkes Bay. Fly to Christchurch and then drive through the stunning mountain settings of the South Island to Queenstown. This tour lets you experience the true diversity of this breathtaking country. History, culture, scenery & adventure, they all feature on this trip designed to give you a brief insight into the land they call Aotearoa, Land of the Long White Cloud. You'll enjoy travelling with several days at leisure and relaxing in stylish accommodation at days end.
Day 1: Arrive Auckland. Stay at Hotel DeBrett. Visit the Auckland waterfront. Rates include pre dinner drinks, full gourmet breakfast and complimentary on site parking.
Day 2: Drive to Pataua North.
Day 3: Explore Tahi. Enjoy surfing, horse riding, kayaking, trekking or relaxing.
Day 4: Drive to Cambridge. Stay at the luxurious country estate of Sarnia Park Boutique Lodge. Explore Cambridge, visit Lake Karapiro and Maungatautari Eco Reserve. Sarnia Park rates include gourmet breakfast and free on site parking. Lunches and dinners available by arrangement.
Day 5: Drive to Rotorua via Waitomo Caves and/or Lord of the Rings sites near Matamata. Stay at Solitaire Lodge, absolute lake edge luxury edge. Rates include pre dinner drinks and canapés, four course dinner, full breakfast and use of all lodge facilities including motorized dinghies, kayaks and fishing gear. Complimentary on site parking.
Day 6: Drive to Taupo after exploring Rotorua and nearby thermal activities. Stay at Pt. View Lodge. Rates include full gourmet breakfast, pre dinner drinks and aperitifs and complimentary on site parking. Gourmet dinner available by prior arrangement. Relax in the lodge’s natural thermal pool and enjoy the generous, friendly local hosting.
Day 7: A day of leisure to enjoy Taupo. Go fishing on Lake Taupo. The lodge can arrange fishing charters. Stay at Point View Lodge.
Day 8: Drive to Hawkes Bay. Stay at spacious, historic and luxurious Glen Aros Country Estate. Visit local wineries and galleries. Rates include full country breakfast, pre dinner drinks and canapés, free on site parking and use of all facilities. Dinner by prior arrangement.
Day 9: Fly Napier/Hastings to CCH. Explore Christchurch. Stay at The historic Charlotte Jane Boutique Hotel. Rates include full gourmet breakfast, NZ wine & hors d’oeuvres 5-6PM, complimentary port & sherry and free on site parking.
Day 10: Drive to Queenstown. Stay at Azur Lodge or Queenstown Park Boutique Hotel.
Azur Lodge features huge individual stand alone villas offering privacy and views. Rates include full a la carte breakfast, airport & town transfers, pre dinner drinks & canapés, mini bars in villas with complimentary beer, soft drinks, juices, snacks and water. Free on site parking.
Queenstown Park Boutique Hotel is located 300 meters from downtown Queenstown. Rates include pre dinner drinks and canapés and complimentary on site parking.
Day 11: Day of leisure for some adrenalin boosting activities. Stay at Azur Lodge or Queenstown Park Boutique Hotel.
Day 12: Day of leisure in Queenstown or day trip to Milford Sound. Stay at Azur Lodge or Queenstown Park Boutique Hotel.
Day 13: Fly ex Queenstown or connect to Auckland or Christchurch
Rates include NZ tax of 12.5%.
