A private island escape with a pristine beach overlooking clear blue water – you have discovered The Beach House nestled at the edge of stunning Vivian Bay on Kawau Island.  Hear the calls of New Zealand’s native birds – tui, fantails, wood pigeons, and kingfishers and, as night falls, the sound of Morepork and Kiwi. The friendly Wekas will entertain you as they forage near the beach.

Three luxury  beachside suites feature timber decks with steps down to the sandy beach. A further choice of courtyard rooms, or escape to the romantic bush cottage rooms, nestled in the busy with views to the bay. Each features King or Queen Size beds , en-suite with walk-in shower, toiletries, tea and coffee facilities, CD player and beach towels.

Expansive decking and courtyards on the edge of the bay offer the perfect place to dine al-fresco. In winter sit around the open fire in the cosy restaurant. Exquisite cuisine using the freshest locally sourced produce.

Take an exciting seaplane flight from downtown Auckland to land right outside The Beach House, or drive north on excellent highways to Sandspit, a pretty small ‘hamlet’ with historical beach cottages to take a short ferry trip or private boat transfer across Kawau Bay and step ashore at the private jetty. Stroll a few metres to The Beach House – kick off your shoes and feel the sand between your toes – time to relax and unwind. Kawau Island is traffic free and the only sounds outside are from the native birds and the lapping water.

Take a kayak out onto the sheltered bays, go snorkelling, dive for shellfish, catch a snapper, bush walk or just simply relax with a good book and unwind. As night falls the skies open to showcase the stars.  No light pollution, no cars – just  stunning ocean views and exceptional cuisine.
