Kincaid Lodge is situated in open green country side with breathtaking views of the adjacent
Southern Alps and down to the Pacific Ocean.
All rooms have private verandahs and patios opening to extensive gardens and tennis court beyond. The rooms are en suite, spacious
and luxuriously appointed. In the lounge you will find a library, piano, guitar, plus games cabinet. Local beers and wines are available. Local hosts ensure a very New Zealand experience and they are happy to advise you, in English and Swedish, of the many activities available in the area, the most famous being whale watching and swimming with the dolphins, among many others. Hosts are also conversant in French, German and Italian. There is a plethora of excellent
cafes and restaurants in the township. Kaikoura is a unique town where the mountains
meet the sea. Here you will find a vast array of wildlife. There is much to see & do, well
worth a few days stay.
Kincaid provides more than luxury accommodation; they are also a small working farm
providing dairy support in the form of grazing and hay production for the local farmers.
This historic lodge can trace its European history back to 1856- this may seem young
for our international visitors but is old for New Zealand. The Kincaid “run” was named
after Kincaid in Stirling, Scotland where the second owners lived. The existing homestead
was completed in 1903.
