Discovery 1 is a luxury Riverboat situated on the Waikato River; its pontoon or home being only 45 minutes from Auckland International airport.
The operation of Discovery 1 is flexible, enabling you to book it like a normal hotel, check in to the boatel in the afternoon, check out next day or after several days of experiencing superb cuisine and wines, a genuine local host - Captain Warwick is a local Maori, kayaking, fishing, or simply relaxing in the hot tub, reading and using the floating bridge to explore the river edges wherever you desire.
Four bedrooms, all with ensuite, offer superb accommodation with an additional two rooms available for children or nannies with shared bathroom facilities.
Downstairs features the bedrooms, state of the art kitchen, dining, lounge, laundry and Captain’s bridge, and full screen panoramic views of the river. Upstairs features hot tub (spa), wet bar, BBQ, plenty of space to relax and enjoy the views or perhaps hold your corporate meeting, executive retreat or wedding.
Discovery 1 can sleep up to 12 passengers, plus conferences, meetings or weddings for up to 30 guests. Day cruises for up to 40 can be booked, subject to availability.
Exclusive use bookings enable you to charter the boat for whatever period you desire and dictate the itinerary and schedule.
Discovery 1 is also available for self catered charters.
