Coromandel Peninsula
Where is it? Coromandel is located 2.5 hours drive south East of Auckland. The drive there is beautiful, some roads are narrow, but the beauty of the area is becoming renowned including the spectacular Cathedral Cove.
How to get there? From Auckland 2.5 hours drive or 20 minutes by helicopter.
What’s there? The Coromandel Peninsula is a playground for adventurers and pleasure seekers alike. The area surrounding the lodge serves up some of the best on offer. There are many pristine white sand beaches one the best being Cathedral Cove or the sheer pleasure of digging your own thermal pool on Hot Water Beach. Choose one of many water experiences, diving in the marine reserve or the outer islands, yacht or fishing charters, kayaking, surfing, or just enjoy the view with a good book from the lodge library.
Dining options: There are local cafes at Cooks Beach and also in neighboring Hahei and the nearby town of Whitianga (reached by road and ferry) has a plethora of dining options. Casual dining – with views - vineyard restaurants and cafes - Takeaways on the beach.
Activities: Beautiful beaches – kayaking, surfing, Vineyards - Wine tasting, cafes, Olives, tramping, art galleries OR – just sit and enjoy the views, the white sand beaches.
